Back-pain relief
Self help back alignment devices can help many back pain sufferers when they cannot get to their chiropractor.
Everyone has dealt with back pain,at some time in their life. You may overdo some exercising or working in the garden. Back pain can be chronic or acute, severe or dull, but always a reminder that there is something wrong.
I'm writing about self-help back pain products. These products should not be used by anyone who hasn't been to a Chiropractor, or orthopedic physician first to rule out any serious condition. Since I was diagnosed with scoliosis at an advanced age, I had been receiving spinal adjustments that have helped greatly with back spasms, migraine headaches, lower back pain, shoulder pain and correcting my leg lengths.
After years of treatment I have decided to try to help myself and researched online for back help.I didn't want pharmaceutical pain relievers, or any more trips to the Chiropractors office. They can become an inconvenience and expensive.
While searching one day, I came upon a back adjustment device that was designed by a Chiropractor. “How bad can this be?”I thought. I'll order it and see if it really works.
Please read to the bottom to see where to find these great products.
Spine-Worx
The Spin-Worx Re-alignment Device is a hard plastic mold with a channel in the middle, the length of a spine. Your spine gently conforms to the shape between the two raised sides and this allows the vertebra to straighten.
I ordered this and I have to say, it was a little tough the first time using it. It is recommended that you slowly lay down on it with a pillow to support your head. You may not be able to stay for the full fifteen minutes at first, but by increasing the time you lie on it will become easier. The makers instruct users to try it twice a day, morning and evening and you will feel relief. Now I only need it every month or so; unless I've overdone my exercises or sat too long.
According to the makers of the Spine-Worx , there are many benefits.
By cradling and elevating the spine, it isolates the vertebrae into a neutral position where gravity gently places spine into alignment. By lying on the device, it will help to relieve muscular pain, pressure and irritation, thus relieving stress and tension.
Also, the Spine-Worx cannot cause any harm or damage since the back conforms to its' normal and natural shape. Almost any age can use this, although it is recommended that children wait until they are 17 years old and first timers with back pain get a chiropractic consultation first to use out serious problems.
The Spine-Worx is designed to relieve pressure to the mid (thoracic) and lower (lumbar) back only. This is not designed for the neck (cervical) region.
The last reason to use it is that portability and expense. The device is 2 pounds, measures 24” x 7 “ x 3 “ so it can fit into a small luggage bag. The price ranges from $15.00 for used to $50.00 for a new one.
This back relief device has worked for me and I have reviewed a few more. Please find more information at the bottom of the page.
Trueback video
TrueBack
True Back has been advertised recently on late-night infomercials and the Internet. It is basically like the Spine-Worx, except it is wider .
The material is ABS plastic ,weighs 4 pounds and measures 24 inches long and 8 inches wide.
Some people who were heavier and larger, had difficulty staying on the Spine-Worx so the wider surface of the True back Alignment Device seems to help stabilize them.
The True Back is officially listed as a non powered orthopedic traction device.
It is also designed to relieve tension and stress by allowing the spine to float in the channel.
The manufacturers ,Trademark Global, claim that this device will not only
correct the spinal problems but prevent new pain from occurring.
It seems that stretching the spine is the key to living pain free.
The third back correct device I am discussing is the Arched Back Lumbar Stretcher Extender, model 83-4866-v. This appears to be a generic brand and it is padded and upholstered on a frame for durability.
Lying on this for 5 to 15 minutes and stretching you arms over your head,is supposed to re align your spinal column and relax tight muscles. It is light weight, portable and measures 16” x 4” x 10” approximately.
I found another company by the name of North American Healthcare to be selling the same device.
The fourth back alignment device I like is the Lumbar Extender Back Stretcher by LumbarExtender.
It too is white and black, lightweight, portable and easy to use.
It is more expensive than the rest but a used one may be found.
Back Magic is almost the same but all black and is half the price.
Made of hard plastic ,with three adjustment levels, and can hold up to heavier weights.
Just five to 10 minutes a day or whenever needed. Some people use it everyday for preventative maintenance.
The fifth back alignment device I am discussing is the Stretch Mate Orthopedic Back Stretcher by
TVTimeDirect. The manufacturers state that it is ergonomically designed to cradle your spinal column and helps your muscles stretch.
This will realign your vertebrae and relaxes tightness. It is very lightweight ,weighing less than 3 pounds, made of light weight plastic, which may not support those weighing over two hundred pounds,as I read on some reviews.
This is priced new at $28.00 so used ones may be found at $10.00.
Inversion Tables
Stretching the spinal cord
I recently was introduced to the idea of stretching my spinal cord for the best pain relief available.
Lying on an inversion tableand then being tilted backwards is a very strange sensation. If you can get over the fear of falling on your head, then it may be an investment worth the money.
There's no need to worry about falling since your ankles are strapped to the metal frame. You may need someone to tilt you back and then upwards when finished, unless you're near a piece of furniture to pull yourself up.
It is more expensive and weighs more, but if all else wasn't worked then you can buy a portable home inversion table like the Inversion Therapy Table shown in the photo.
It weighs 52 pounds, can accommodate heights of 4' 10” to 6'6' frames and hold up to 250 pounds.
The measurements are 77.5 “ long by 27” wide and 79.5 “ high.
The best part of using this device is that it can be folded up and stored away when not in use.
It also is a cost-saving measurement, since doctor visits and chiropractic care are eliminated.
Vacupractor
The new Vacupractor back pain relief device looks so simple a device that no believes that it works.
Looks can be deceiving though. The inventor has many satisfied customers and now is being offered on Amazon as well as other sites.
It may look odd and too simple to work, but there are many satisfied users and the inventor states sales are climbing.
In summary, there are products that can help anyone who has suffered from lower back pain and tight muscles. It seems that stretching the muscles and spinal column are key to relieving back pain.
The Spine-Worx was the first back alignment product I ever tried and liked but
I am planning to get the True Back Realignment Device due to the wider surface. It looks a little more comfortable and I want to see for myself if it is better or not for my back.
The Stamina Gravity Inversion Table was recently added to my review because I still had back pain. I think this is a good product and there are others to choose from. The newer ones are lighter and more portable than those found at the chiropractors office so more people are willing to try them.
People have choices today and for those who have had Chiropractic care in the past and are aware of their spinal problems, then I think this is safe to use.
Whenever you feel extreme pain or something new, I highly recommend seeing a Chiropractor or visit the emergency room for X-rays.
I am not a Physician; just a fellow back pain sufferer who has reviewed and used some back pain relief products.
**Disclaimer: please visit a doctor or chiropractor first if you have back pain and have never been seen by any medical personnel. These devices should be used by those who know what condition their back is in.

Maybe you can help, I've been trying to find a replacement for a "machine" that had a major part lost during a Home move. I had my perfect answer to my back pain. It was a bench with a rolling cylinder that extended, aligned and gently "cracked" my back. It relieved a lot of pain. Friends laughed when they first saw it, but after one use, they would go straight for it every time, please help me find a replacement!! Can't find one anywhere!! sukigadwah@hotmail.com
Great info and review of these products. Thanks! I would caution people with severe back pain to see a healthcare professional first, but these devices certainly have their place. And besides a chiropractor or MD, a Physical Therapist can evaluate your back too.
Simple yet effective tools to assist fighting of back pain.
Nice hub, Stacie L. I'm going to see if I can find some of these products at the department store. I never knew about most of them and am glad to have found this hub.
Great advice here. When laying down on your side place a pillow between your legs to relieve back stress at night.
Thanks. I know that at least some of theese back pain products helps. Some of them are new to me, but will give them a try.
Wow, these are some really interesting products! I have never heard of any of them! I have horrible backaches. I am going to have to try one of these!
Has anyone tried the Turtle? It is one of the latest devices to relieve all kinds of back pain instantly. I am considering trying one (there is 90 day trial period for free at www.turtlerelief.com) and want to hear some reviews and feedback on this product. Thanks.
Wow... I had no idea that there were so many products for back pain. I've been to a couple different chiropractors and they've never mentioned any of these products. Thank you for writing this article, opened my eyes to what is out there!
I had terrible back spasms. The only thing that helped me were muscle relaxers - and a very potent pain reliever - think "House, MD" -from prescriptions from my doctor. I found I could not continue to sit on a certain CHAIR! Ever since I moved to a hard bench and I never had those horrible spasms again. You can't believe the pain! I had to lie on the floor for hours waiting for the meds to kick in! Whatever works - good for you!
